Brigantia Hill Fort Academy

Welcome

Brigantia Hill Fort Academy caters for children aged 2 to 11. All our staff are dedicated to providing a culture of care, through supporting and challenging all our children to create excellence. We ask two things of our children, ‘be kind and work hard’.

This new academy represents a powerful coming together of two communities—Wincobank Nursery and Infants Academy and Concord Junior Academy—into one unified academy, strengthened by our shared history and driven by an exciting vision for the future.

Brigantia Hill Fort Academy is named after the ancient Iron Age fort that stands just above our community on Wincobank Hill. Built over 2,000 years ago by the Brigantes tribe, this site is a symbol of strength, resilience and unity.  This name connects where we come from and what we aim to become, and I’m truly privileged to lead a school that carries this kind of meaning and legacy.

Driven by our Trust Values of Ambition, Integrity, Creativity, Respect, Confidence  and Care Brigantia Hill Fort provide the full Primary offer. We begin in our award-winning Ducklings pre-school provision, highly regarded as a centre of excellence where pupils’ learning journey begins. As the children move through the Early Years and Key Stage 1, they engage in an exciting and purposeful curriculum, developed to inspire and excite to learn about themselves, their community and the world they live in.

In Key Stage 2 we build on these skills and knowledge and foster the ambition and curiosity to excel and exceed in their curriculum studies. We provide opportunities for children to debate, present and publicly celebrate not only their academic excellence but how they have grown as humans demonstrating integrity and respect.

Utilisng the Brigantia Learning Trust Student experience we ensure a wide range of opportunities are provided for our children, free of charge. Fieldwork to Farms, Learning to create a meal, exploring forests and Residentials are provided here at Brigantia Hill Fort. These experiences provide a framework for our children to appreciate the world that they live in as well as enrich the school culture with kindness, generosity and compassion.

Brigantia Hill Fort is fortunate to be able to provide age specific facilities over two sites; our younger children are based at our Newman Road site and our children from Year 3 are based on our Fife Street site. Both sites are equipped with age-appropriate playground equipment, exploring spaces and sports facilities. At Brigantia Hill Fort we are also proud that we can provide two Integrated Resource provisions, catering for additional Communication and Interaction needs, in partnership with Sheffield Local Authority.

Its an exciting place to be
